The University of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (UHRS), established in 2024 in Qingdao, China, is a new and growing university dedicated to excellence in rehabilitation education and research. UHRS is seeking highly motivated PhD researchers to join its Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Program. Recruitment is currently open for both postdoctoral fellows and research assistant/associate professor positions.

Research Focus: These positions offer exciting opportunities to conduct innovative research focused on improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and injuries, including but not limited to conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, peripheral nerve injuries, orthopedic injuries, amputation, etc. Candidates can choose to contribute to research projects in the following areas: motor unit analysis, electrophysiology, biomedical signal processing, biomechanics, muscle physiology, muscle function, human-machine interface, myoelectric control, rehabilitation robotics, assistive devices, computer modeling, machine learning, etc.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline such as biomedical engineering, neural engineering, rehabilitation engineering, electrical engineering, information science, rehabilitation science, neurophysiology, or biomechanics. Experience with human subjects and electrophysiological recording, as well as a strong publication record demonstrating research productivity is highly desirable.

Appointment and Compensation: Initial appointments are for 2 to 3 years and are renewable. Competitive salaries commensurate with experience will be provided. Successful candidates, if demonstrating distinguished performance, will be encouraged to apply for tenure-track professor positions at the end of their contract and will be given priority consideration.
