The selected candidate will work at the BIOsignal Analysis for Rehabilitation and Therapy Research Group (http://bioart.upc.edu/) in the field of myoelectrical signal processing (EMG signals) for the assessment and rehabilitation of neurological diseases (stroke, spinal cord injury etc.). We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in recording and processing of electromyographic signals, and machine learning techniques.
Candidate is expected to participate in competitive national and international research calls, and to contribute to the definition of the research projects by proposing new both research and technology transfer activities.
The candidate will find a young but very active environment to develop his/her career with collaboration with other international and national groups and hospitals. The BIOART Group coordinates several projects funded by European (in the H2020 and Marie Curie frameworks), National (from the Spanish Minister) and Regional Governments. The group belongs to the Biomedical Engineering Research Centre (http://creb.upc.edu/en) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (http://www.upc.edu/en) in Barcelona serving the needs of research, technological development, innovation and knowledge transfer of companies, hospitals and institutions related to the field of Health technologies since 1983.
LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE
In order to be eligible for this call, the researcher must:
- Hold a doctoral degree (obtained before 31st December 2015);
- Have experience in recording and processing EMG signals;
- Have experience in Machine Learning techniques;
- Have experience in Data Science
The following experience would be also appreciated:
- Biomedical Instrumentation design and Electronics
- Applied research and/or technology transfer activities (R&D projects involving companies, patents licensing or spinoffs);
