ISEK 2018

Congress Venue

ISEK 2018 will be held on the leafy campus of University College Dublin (UCD), one of Europe’s leading research-intensive universities and Ireland’s largest university.  UCD is located on a beautiful leafy 133-hectare campus (known as Belfield) 4 Km to the south of Dublin’s city centre.  The campus provides a mix of academic facilities, research institutes, libraries and archival collections, enterprise space, student villages, and sports and recreational facilities. The conference will take place in 2 adjacent buildings on the campus – the O’Brien Centre for Science will play host to the plenary sessions as well as the congress registration desk and lunch. The newly built O’Reilly Hall will host our exhibitors, tea/coffee breaks and all breakout sessions. There is free campus Wi-Fi and Eduroam available throughout the campus. During the conference, delegates can take a break to enjoy some of the woodland paths and walks that have been developed across the 133 hectare campus.

University College Dublin was established in 1854 and is today Ireland’s largest and most richly diversified university with almost 30,000 students.  The history of UCD is closely linked to the history of the Irish state and the university has been a major contributor to the making of modern Ireland. It has established a long and distinguished tradition of service to scholarship and the community. Perhaps the best known of all its graduates is the writer James Joyce, who completed his Bachelor of Arts at the university in 1902.

Familiarise yourself with the campus by viewing the campus map in advance:
